We're giving a whole new meaning to "Snap, Crackle, Pop" today on PLSR. With Valentine's Day right around the corner, we decided to create heart shaped Rice Krispie treats covered in frosting & topped with Pop Rocks. Check out the recipe below!
Ingredients:
for Rice Krispies:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 package Jet-Puffed heart shaped pink marshmallows
- 5 cups Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal
for frosting:
- 2 bags Pop Rocks
- 2 cups Domino confectioners sugar
- 4-6 tbsp lemon juice
Supplies:
- heart shaped cookie cutter
- baking tray
- medium saucepan
- mixing spoon
- Bak-Klene ZT Nonstick Baking Spray
- medium mixing bowl
Step 1:
In medium saucepan melt 3 tbsp butter over low heat.
Step 2:
While butter is melting, spray baking tray with baking spray. Additionally, rub butter along inside of medium mixing bowl until covered & pour in Rice Krispies.
Step 3:
When butter is full melted, pour marshmallows into saucepan & stir continually until smooth.
Step 4:
Pour marshmallow & butter mixture over Rice Kripsies & stir until well coated.
Step 5:
Place mixture in baking tray and press down gently until about 3/4 in. thick.
Step 6:
Cut out heart shapes with cookie cutter.
Step 7:
Combine all ingredients to make frosting & top Rice Krispie treats with frosting & Pop Rocks.
Step 8:
