Hi Baking Kakis, this is dried oregano. You can omit if you don't have .

My recipe below adapted from http://www.marthastewart.com/1066175/cheddar-bits

Cheddar Cheese Bites

Ingredients
¼ teaspoon dried oregano
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
1 stick of unsalted butter, cut into cubes , chilled (110g )
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp cold milk

1. Use a food processor and mix to form a dough as shown in the video. If you don't have a food processor use a big bowl and spatula to mix. Mix butter with flour first to form crumbs, then add cheese and milk to form a dough .

2. Wrap dough with cling wrap and chill for 20 mins as shown in video

3. Preheat oven to 190 degree

4. Roll out dough to desired thickness ( I did about 1/4 inch ) and sprinkle with dried oregano. Use the rolling pin and roll over to press down the herb.

5. Use a shape knife or pizza cutter and cut out your squares ( I cut 1.5 inch by 1.5 inch )

6. Bake for about 15 mins till golden brown.

7. Cool on rack
