Baking Wants & Needs

I've been very fortunate to have such an awesome roommate, possibly the best ever. She put up with my little kitchen mishap. She taste tests every single one of my recipes. And she even lets me take over pretty much every closet & cabinet in our apartment with loads of sugar & baking tools. Some of those tools have come to be essential in my day to day routine. Others I just love to use & hey, they don't look so bad on a countertop either!

1. No, an ice cream maker is not an essential. Yet it is one of the coolest machines I've ever used. It allows you to try out tons of new flavored ice cream & you can even create new flavors yourself!

2. A Kitchen Aid mixer. Probably on every blogger, baker, & persons wish-list. I have yet to invest in one of these bad boys but in the meantime I use the Kitchen Aid hand mixer & it works like a charm!

3. Again, mason jars are not an essential but they do help in so many ways around the kitchen. Stuff them with flowers to keep the place looking fresh & pretty or bake layered cakes inside them! Either way you'll be very happy you invested in some of these. 

4. I've been trying to drink at least one cup of tea a day. With all the sweets I eat & the lack of exercise I do, a little tea detox is a great way to start or finish your day!

5. Napkins, paper towel, dish towels, invest in tons of these as baking is a messy job! 

6. Yes donuts are an essential baking need. Kidding, kind of...  But the cooling rack it rests upon is a great tool to help evenly cool your treats. Leaving your desserts in the baking pans keeps them warmer much longer so by investing in a cooling rack in allows you to move along the baking process much quicker. 

7. Spoons, knives, bowls, etc. You didn't need to read this to know these are kitchen essentials for baking & eating!
